The Departments of Tourism and Promotion of Ceramics presented the book, “Plats de Manises” in the cloister of the Culture Centre. Following many months of work, this publication was released with an aim to bring together the gastronomy and crafts sectors. The book compiles 27 recipes of Manises traditional cuisine presented on different ceramic pieces by 13 craftspeople from Manises.
The dishes were prepared by Amparo Suria from Manises, who, as well as providing the typical Manises dishes, contributed with her experience to put her knowledge of cooking into practice so that it will never be lost.
In the pages of the book, we can find typical Valencian dishes such as esgarraet (cod with peppers), the traditional Manises dish fesols rodats (butter beans with garlic) or other highly traditional dishes in the region like puchero (casserole dish). There is no shortage of sweets either, such as coca escudellà (pumpkin cake), sweet potato cakes or fabiola (coconut and almond sponge).
Another of the objectives of this compilation of recipes was to promote the utensils and crockery made by the ceramists of our town. Among those collaborating are: Aliarte Cerámica, Arturo Mora la cerámica de Reflejo Metálico, Cerámicas Chenoll, Cerámicas Palanca, Plat y Bol, Pepe Royo, Domanises, Drac Ceramic, Gresnaler, La Botiga de Gema, la Cerámica Valenciana de José Gimeno, Rafael Mora and Art Ceramics TVS.
