Women in the history
of ceramics in Manises

Introduction

Women’s participation in ceramic production in Manises began at the end of the nineteenth century. Their work in artistic production involved, in the main, making decorative, ornamental pieces like flowers, leaves, etc. and focused particularly on painting, with women being the majority of those dedicated to this function in the workshops. 

Nowadays, some women are recognized for their dedication to making flowers in both clay and ceramics.
