The educational exchange programme “Our ceramic tradition joins together” (2019), within the framework of the European youth mobility platform Erasmus+, facilitated young people from Manises and Montelupo Fiorentino worked on researching the ceramic similarities that unite them.
The initiative consists, mainly, in the investigation of the similarities between the ceramics produced in both localities since their origins. In the first stage of the project, twelve young people between 14 and 18 years old from Manises have traveled to Montelupo and for eight days they will work together with twelve other young people from the Italian town in the search for original pieces and paintings of Manises distributed by different museums and historic buildings of Tuscany. In the same way, and to complete the programming, Italian students will visit Manises later with the same educational objectives.
