Last January 22, 2024. The city of Manises was present for another year at FITUR, which on this occasion was held at IFEMA Madrid from January 24 to 28, 2024, to publicize the cultural, historical, festive, landscape, and nature of our city, in addition to exchanging synergies with the different agents of the tourism sector, especially those who work in the promotion of crafts and ceramic art.
The Councilor for Tourism of the Manises City Council, Àngel Mora, points out that “FITUR has been an excellent opportunity to present the treasures of our town to professionals, companies, administrations, entities, promoters and potential visitors from all over the world, as well as to highlight the extensive “Manisero” heritage, especially ceramics, in the leading international tourism fair for the incoming and outgoing markets of Ibero-America.”
Manises participated with its own space, within the València Turisme stand, of the Provincial Council of Valencia, where the city’s resources and tourist offers were shown to all the attendees, as well as the calendar of the most relevant events for this year. , such as the II Manises International Film and Ceramics Festival (CICEMA), the XVI International Ceramics Biennial, and the traditional Ceramics Festival and Parade, considered of tourist interest in the Valencian Community.
The presence of the Manises City Council at FITUR was used to present the Q mark certification for tourism quality that the Institute for Spanish Tourism Quality has awarded to the Manises Tourism Office. The award was received at the Q Night Gala, held on Thursday, January 25th, in the Crystal Gallery of the Cibeles Palace, in Madrid.
It is important to remark that Manises has belonged to the UNESCO Creative Cities network since 2021 in the category of crafts and popular arts, being the only city in the Spanish State in this modality, which has positioned Manises on the map worldwide and has led to an increase in activities around the promotion of Manises ceramics.
This 2024, FITUR occupied more than 130,000 square meters, with nine pavilions of the fairgrounds, where all the autonomous communities will be represented and where more than 136,000 professionals from the sector have gathered, around 8,500 exhibiting companies, with a presence from more than 100 countries. and, the presentation of Ecuador, as this year’s FITUR partner country.
