This afternoon we inaugurated the exhibition “Plats de Manises” where you can visit all the ceramic pieces created by local potters as well as the photographs of the popular recipes of Manises and its surroundings that appear in the book with the same name: Plats de Manises.
The dishes were prepared by Amparo Suria Arenas, who, in addition to providing the typical Manises recipes, has contributed with her experience to capture a knowledge of cooking that will never be lost.
Among the photographs in the book we find very Valencian dishes such as “esgarraet”, peppers with tuna, the traditional Manisero dish “fesols rodats” or others with a long tradition in the region such as “puchero” or “rossejat”. There is also no shortage of sweets such as “torta escudellà”, sweet potato cakes and “fabiola”.
Another of the objectives of this exhibition of recipes has been to promote the utensils and crockery made by local potters.
Aliarte Cerámica, Arturo Mora la Cerámica de Reflejo Metálico, Cerámicas Chenoll, Cerámicas Palanca, Plat y Bol, Pepe Royo, Domanises, Drac Cerámico, Gresnaler, la Botiga de Gema, la Cerámica Valenciana de José Gimeno, Rafael Mora and Art TVS have collaborated.
The book can be consulted at the following link (https://bit.ly/3uQYdj6) and in addition, all the recipes have a QR code that directs you to the craftsman or craftswoman who has made the ceramic piece that fills the recipe.
