During this week we will be present at different events of great relevance in the ceramic sector. From 27 March to 2 April we will be present at the European Crafts Days, on 31 March, 1 and 2 April at Fira de les Comarques and ¡Hola Ceràmica!
One year after being named a UNESCO Creative City in the modality of Crafts and Popular Arts, we continue to be committed to active participation in events that promote and encourage handcrafted ceramics.
In the words of our councillor for the Promotion of Ceramics, Xavier Morant, “at Manises we are always committed to extolling our most deeply-rooted tradition and revitalising the ceramics sector, which is why we are joining the different European campaigns that will take place over the next few days”. For his part, the Councillor for Tourism, Ángel Mora, remarked that “Fira de les Comarques is a perfect showcase to show the world our tourist resources and, of course, our ceramics”.
Events
European Crafts Days and ¡Hola Ceràmica!
From 27 March to 2 April, we will be present at the European Crafts Days, an opportunity to observe the diversity of craft creation in Spain.
On the other hand, on the 1st and 2nd of April, ¡Hola Ceràmica! An activity to promote ceramics that aims to make ceramics known to a wider public through several days of visits to both the Valencian Ceramics Association and our Ceramics Museum. The activity is promoted by the Spanish Association of Ceramics Cities (AeCC). Other countries with national associations of ceramic cities such as Italy and Portugal coincide in holding these events.
On the occasion of the European Days and ¡Hola Ceràmica!, we have organised free activities with the aim of bringing visitors and interested people of all ages closer to the sphere of craft creation.
On 27th March, the Associació Valenciana de Ceràmica AVEC – Gremi, will hold a workshop at 10:30 a.m. on taulell decoration using the socarrat technique, and at 12:00 p.m. a visit to the workshop, exhibition, and shop.
Also, on 31 March and 1 April, the Manises Ceramics Museum will be holding a free guided tour at 10:30 am. To attend, please confirm your attendance at turismo@manises.es
On the occasion of the celebration of the European Crafts Days and ¡Hola Ceràmica!, Manises City of Ceramics social networks have launched a prize draw in which the winners will win a ceramic workshop at Aliarte Cerámica and a pack of handmade ceramic pieces. The prize draw will be open until Monday 3 April.
Fira de les Comarques
On 31st March, 1st and 2nd April our Town Hall will participate in the Fira de les Comarques, organised by the Diputación de València in the Plaza de Toros of the city of the Túria. The aim of our participation is to promote our city, our history, heritage and ceramic tradition.
This is one of the most important tourism fairs in the Valencian Community, where the entire tourism offer of the counties and municipalities of the province of Valencia will be present. The aim of the fair is to promote the tourism products of the inland municipalities of the province of Valencia.
