The Manises Ceramics Museum was founded in 1967 with the aim of exhibiting the art and ceramic objects of the local potters. It currently has a collection of more than 5,500 pieces with a chronology ranging from the 16th to the 20th century.<\/p>\n
Most of the works are by artists from Manises, but we can also find productions from other places such as Alcora or Valencia<\/p>\n
On 13 April the Museum of Ceramics reopened its Art room to present the new organisation and layout of the space following the new additions of ceramic pieces to the contemporary ceramics collection, as well as the graphic material that accompanies them.<\/p>\n
Among the pieces we will find the acquisition of the work Atenci\u00f3n estado de alarma (2020), by Xavier Monsalvatje, winner of the Seville 2023 Awards in the Contemporary Creative Ceramics category. This work belongs to the COVID-19 series and is decorated mainly with black pigment.<\/p>\n
We will also have the acquisition of the work Sculpture (1995), as well as the donation of the work Mural (1998), both by the ceramist Enric Mestre. The first work is mainly made of stoneware and the second of chamotte stoneware and varnish.<\/p>\n
Three restored and conserved works donated by Lu\u00eds Garc\u00eda Oliver and Lu\u00eds Garc\u00eda Falg\u00e1s will also be presented.<\/p>\n
The event will begin at 19:00h at the Manises Ceramics Museum and admission will be free of charge.<\/p>\n
Finally, during the event, Arcadi Blasco will be remembered ten years after his death. Arcadi was a pioneering ceramist in the conception of ceramics as a form of expression, as well as in its use with conceptual and communicative functions, part of his work can be found in our museum.<\/p>\n
